About Me
My name is Matt Dua
I was born in South Africa and lived there for just over two decades, where I completed my undergraduate and honours degrees. I then taught English in South Korea before moving to New Zealand in 2016. I have completed my Master's and Postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology here, and now consider it home.
I have worked across the public health sector, notably at the Pain Management Centre, and the Anxiety Disorders Service (ADS) through Health NZ (Te Whatu Ora). I currently work at ADS treating a range of conditions such as OCD, PTSD, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, and Specific Phobias. I also have experience helping individuals with day-to-day life stressors, depression, and in managing Chronic Pain conditions.
I have shifted to working in the private sector, as waitlists to be seen in the public setting can mean people don't get help when it's needed. I provide evidence based psychological assessments and therapy for adults. I have training and experience across a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, MCT, EMDR, & Virtual Reality Therapy.
